The bird and the country... Why do they have the same name? I'll tell you why...

Lets go step by step;

- Some traders brought the bird "guinea fowl" to Turkish lands from Madagascar.

- Turkish people liked this new breed of poultry and it became popular.

- European traders found selling these birds profitable so they imported "guinea fowl" through Turkey,

- Turkish people was calling "guinea fowl" as "Hindi"... Because they we're thinking the bird was originally from India... "Hindistan" is for "India" in Turkish language...

- And similarly European people called it "turkey", they named "guinea fowl" after the country it came from.

- When Europeans went to America, they saw a similar bird and called it "turkey" too... Actually it was a different species.

- Now in English language the word "turkey" is for two different species of birds and one country.

- In English language there was also "Turkey corn" or "Turkey wheat" similarly named after the country, but by the time the name changed to "Indian corn". [1], [2]

- Benjamin Franklin wrote to her daughter the bird turkey would be better a symbol for United States instead of bald eagle. [3]

First type; the idiots from -usually- western countries, make that silly smiling fuck face when they learned that you're from Turkey... They have a very limited brain capacity; barely enough to eat, drink, sleep and fuck, so they never get themselves into activities like trying to learn why are these two has the same name... But they have a couple of extra neurons to make fun of my countries name.

Second type; the idiots from Turkey, they are the Turkish counterparts of first type of idiots. But of course, they don't make fun of the name but instead they use those extra neurons to get angry, and to propose using the word "Türkiye" instead of "Turkey".

Well, if you're reading this, probably you're reading it on DeviantArt web site, which is a small part of the information ocean we call Internet. You can't have any excuse to be ignorant while you have an access to this amount of information.

If you're in the first group of idiots, (well I know it's physically impossible, you can't read this much) first of all; fuck you! I love my country and you're not allowed to make fun of it with your single digit IQ. We're not making fun of Indian people because we call the bird "hindi".

And for the second group of idiots, our country has bigger problems then a couple of fools making fun of its name. OK, I know you have a very limited brain capacity but at least learn to shut up when you don't know anything about the subject. And before I forget, fuck you too...
